Shopify B2B in 2026: Wholesale on Every Plan, and When You Need Plus

Key takeaways

  • Shopify opened its native B2B features to Basic, Grow and Advanced on 2 April 2026.
  • Core features include company accounts, B2B catalogues, payment terms, quick order lists and vaulted cards.
  • Below Plus you can run up to three active B2B market catalogues; Plus removes the limit and assigns catalogues to specific companies and locations.
  • Deposits, partial payments and payment requests per fulfilment remain Plus features.
  • One store can serve both wholesale and retail customers, each seeing their own prices.

Wholesale used to be the main reason brands moved to Shopify Plus — or ran a separate wholesale store. That changed on 2 April 2026, when Shopify made its native B2B features available on its Basic, Grow and Advanced plans. Here is what that means for brands selling to other businesses.

What Shopify B2B includes

  • Company accounts: Businesses with multiple locations and buyers, each with their own permissions and addresses.
  • B2B catalogues: Wholesale price lists and product selections, shown only to the buyers they apply to.
  • Payment terms: Net terms such as 30 or 60 days, alongside card and other payments, with vaulted cards for repeat orders.
  • Quick ordering: Quick order lists and quantity rules (minimums, maximums and increments) for fast bulk purchases.
  • Automation: Shopify Flow to approve customers, tag orders or alert your team.

Where Shopify Plus still matters

  • Catalogue scale: Basic, Grow and Advanced support up to three active B2B market catalogues. Plus supports unlimited catalogues and assigns them directly to companies and locations — essential when many customers have their own price lists.
  • Payment flexibility: Deposits, partial payments and payment requests per fulfilment stay on Plus.
  • Checkout logic: Custom checkout extensions and Shopify Functions in your own apps, for rules such as customer-specific shipping or payment options.

Blended stores: B2B and retail together

Shopify B2B is built to run alongside retail in the same store. Business buyers sign in and see their catalogue, prices and terms; everyone else sees your normal store. One product catalogue, one inventory and one admin — no second store to keep in sync.

How to launch wholesale on Shopify

  1. Map your wholesale customers, price lists and payment terms.
  2. Check whether three B2B catalogues are enough, or whether you need Plus.
  3. Create companies and locations, and import existing customers.
  4. Set up catalogues, quantity rules and payment terms.
  5. Adjust the theme for business buyers: quick order lists, account pages and reorder buttons.
  6. Connect your ERP or inventory system if orders need to flow into it.
